TERIS Hires Victor Suen as Senior Forensic Consultant for its Growing Silicon Valley Office

PALO ALTO, CA – March 14, 2011 – TERIS Bay Area announced today the hiring of Victor Suen as Senior Forensic Consultant for its growing Silicon Valley office. Victor will assist TERIS clients involved in government investigations, intellectual property theft, employment issues and securities investigations, and other types of class action litigation. TERIS provides computer forensic services to Fortune 500 corporations and some of the country’s most respected legal firms.

Suen was most recently a Senior Consultant with Evolver, Inc., where his responsibilities included conducting computer forensic investigations and electronic discovery processing for clients. In one case, he worked on a project in which a client reported a former employee observed taking intellectual property from the company’s servers. Suen was tasked with identifying how the data was removed and the steps the company could take to prevent a similar experience in the future. After interviewing key personnel, he determined that several information security best practices were not in place, allowing any employee access to any data. Suen performed a gap analysis using ISO 27001 as a guideline and helped the client resolve the situation.

Forensics and security are two areas of increasingly importance to our clients,” said Kevin Brooks, Executive Vice President, TERIS Northern California. “Victor’s experience and expertise in these areas allows us to greatly expand our service offerings and meet our clients evolving needs. Victor will play a critical role for us as we work with clients to install, maintain and use leading industry tools to detect, respond to and mitigate enterprise security threats.”

Suen has more than eight years of IS Security experience, beginning his career as an IS Business Analyst for Amgen, Inc., where he rose to the rank of Enterprise IS Security Engineer. He also worked with FTI Consulting, Inc., where he gained experience conducting investigations with forensic tools as well as providing guidance and developing defensible and auditable collection and preservation processes for Fortune 500 and AmLaw 100 clients

Suen is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. He is a CISSP and CISA and has received technical training in a variety of legal technology fields including Guidance Software, LexisNexis, Kazeon, and Relativity.
