Is it unethical for lawyers to hire ghost writers to fill the content on their blogs?

That question has been generating some debate among bloggers who do their own writing, Legal Blog Watch reports.

The debate took off after the blog Social Media Tyro condemned the practice, pointing to a paralegal who advertises her ghostwriting services for estate planning blogs at LegalGhostBlogger.com.

The website includes testimonials from satisfied lawyers like this one: “I would never have the time to do this consistently myself,” he says. “I have received great feedback from readers, some of whom ‘find me’ only because of her posts.

”Legal Blog Watch says the ethics questions include: Is it ethical for a lawyer to hire a ghost writer for his or her blog? Does the answer change if the lawyer discloses the posts are ghost written? And is it OK to out lawyers who use ghost bloggers?
